mikegray 4 480x640Woodworking History:   I have worked with wood in various disciplines for many years. I have been woodturning for just over 2 years. I began turning due to an accident involving my table saw. While I was healing I started playing with my lathe (less chance of re-injuring my hand.). I found my true woodworking love in turning, and as they say "The rest is history."

Philosophy:   My Philosophy is simple. I believe that God has given each of us gifts, and that when he made the tree He did the best He could. So I believe we owe it to him to do the best we can with those gifts. I love to learn, as well as share what I learn. I feel that this is one of the greatest traits of this community.

Specialties: Hand Chased Threads in Wood, Fine Finials, And various Tool Techniques.

Accomplishments:   I have been fortunate in my short career. I have several art pieces in collections in South Africa, Las Vegas, and numerous pieces locally. I have been chosen to show in local juried art shows. I have been commissioned, and donated, two pieces to a local charity auction. And have just started doing demonstrations.
